The Hand Bringer is an outstanding science-fiction novel by Christopher J. Penington. Apparently, there is an invasion by vampires and humanity is under the threat of destruction. These vampires are carrying a very dangerous virus. Once bitten by a vampire, humans are infected with the virus and eventually succumb to death.

Peter Hadrian is the main character in this book. He is a remarkable police officer from Dallas. His wife is killed by the vampires and his son disappears mysteriously. Peter is left all alone and distressed. Indulging in alcohol becomes the only way to forget his problems. Peter is on duty one day when he receives a distressing call on the police radio. This call is from a fellow police officer requesting for backup. On his arrival, he is attacked by a vampire that almost kills him. He is left in a critical condition and his friend Luke accompanies him to the hospital. Before they even arrive at the hospital, they are redirected to a helicopter filled with military medics. These medics are conducting research on vampirism. Some tests are undertaken and it turns out that Peter is immune to vampirism. This makes him a very useful weapon in the fight against vampires. Peter Hadrian and his colleagues embark on a mission to destroy the roots of vampires. They travel back in time since this is the only way to end this calamity. Will this mission be fruitful?

The scenes in this book are well-described making it easy for the reader to visualize the events taking place. The plot is additionally fascinating and the characters well-developed. The use of humour in this book is also evident which makes it more fascinating. What I liked most is that this book is full of suspense and unexpected surprises. This book is definitely a page turner.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it was professionally edited and I enjoyed reading it. Additionally, this book is packed with action which made it even more interesting. I was also impressed by the author’s writing style. The story was narrated very well and this gave me an unforgettable experience.

I would recommend this book to those people who enjoy reading science fiction books. Those who like action packed books will also find it enjoyable. I would also recommend this book to those people who like vampires and horrifying scenes. However, this book has some erotic scenes and therefore unsuitable for children.
