In this fascinating work of science fiction, Kata and Tau embark on an adventure to see if they can reach Kata’s home planet of Trandellia. They have just escaped a high-security laboratory called GenTech. GenTech is responsible for imprisoning and torturing both Kata and Tau.

Homecoming by Jude Austin is the second book in the Projects series. The author does a really nice job of including information from the previous book. This makes it so Homecoming can be read standalone. The Projects series is set in a futuristic world where human clones are becoming more common, and where space travel is a normal means of transportation. Tau, one of the main characters, is a clone himself. Kata and Tau jump from planet to planet desperately trying to get to safety. This is a story about how two loners try to fit back into society when on the run. Kata and Tau will face various other captors and threshold guardians along their journey. Will they succeed? Or will they fail?

This book was almost twice as long as the first book in the series. Despite this, I still couldn’t put it down, and I really enjoyed the content. I loved how Kata and Tau both found another individual to confide in along the way. They were best friends when they were locked up in GenTech, but now given certain circumstances, they had to find another friend to trust. It made me root for them to succeed even more. I also liked how coping with mental illness was a theme in this book. Kata must have been under an insane amount of stress because he was tortured for so long.

One thing that bugged me was that the storyline was a bit repetitive. A major theme for Kata and Tau was them getting caught, and then escaping a while later. I am glad they got split up during the story though. That made for some great character development, and it was really fun to read. I still enjoyed this book to its full extent, so I give it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

This book was edited very well. I wouldn’t recommend this book to children. It has many instances of vulgar language. It did not have any erotic content at all. I would recommend this book to people who like space travel. Also, I would recommend it to people who want to ponder the question of human clone rights.
