Review by Sami_Moon20 -- The Hand Bringer
The Hand Bringer written by Christopher J. Penington is an excellent read. The book touches many themes that make it for everyone. After many horrors the main character Peter tries to save everyone after being chosen and not knowing why. It was a choice he did not make because there was no choice at all. He was chosen without an explanation and thrown into this confusing plan to travel in time to save his own time. From science experiments going wrong and eventually finding a possible solution to travelling back in time this book covers anything and everything you could imagine.
Friends become enemies and enemies friends, when no one knows who to trust you have to trust everyone. Our heroes try to save the day without really knowing the mission because as they find more information out and learn of new people and new events they drift further away from the original goals. When someone who is a great ali in your time turns out to be your greatest enemy in the past it makes it hard to stay focused on the goal. Blood is the key to saving the world but it is also the key to destroying it. When different types of vampires roam free and some worse than others kill everyone around you.
It is so well written and there is evidence of research going into this, from scientific terms as well as a foreign language to help set the scene. Everything is explained in great detail to show the different positions and knowledge of the mission between characters. After reading this book a 4 out of 4 star rating is given. The writer explores many different types of characters and themes showing that everyone is linked one way or another.
It is a great read for people who enjoy science or history but anyone would be able to understand it without prior knowledge. This book is for mature readers as it mentions violence and other mature themes. It also questions many religious beliefs to show different opinions based on where and when a person is from but shows that no matter what you believe the common enemy is the same with a similar origin story.
The Hand Bringer is primarily written in one language but does mention that the characters are actually speaking in another language. This is so that anyone could read it and understand without needing to learn a new language. By having the book written this way it allows more people to read it and understand it.
