Peter Hadrian, a police officer, gets a call for help at a local scene. He thought the call was as ordinary as any other. He didn’t know that he would end up wounded in The Blue Project Laboratory as their first experimental success in creating a sustainable vampire. He will be drawn into a special mission. He must travel through the time to eliminate the beginnings of vampirism. Vlad Tepes, known as Count Dracula, has to die for Peter to complete the mission.

The Hand Bringer by Christopher J. Penington is a sci-fi book that mixed old and well-known myths about vampires with a touch of modern fiction. The plot is full of action, and it was hard to put this book down. The main character has its story fully developed. The story started in the USA but ended up in Romania. The author made a lot of research since Penington described the medieval scenery and characters in such a glorious way that it felt like I was there the whole time.

There are a few erotic scenes that are not too explicit. Since this book is about vampires, there are lots of death scenes.

Luke and Bat are also one of the dominant characters in the book. I was expecting to read the background stories of both of them, but it didn’t happen. I also mentioned that Peter’s major point of the mission was to eliminate Vlad Tepes. I expected Penington to create something new about that character, but there were not a lot of scenes where we could meet him better. Those are the things I disliked in the book.

The writing is rich but yet simple. Many details and twists kept me interested in the book. I love the cover of the book; that was the main reason that this book had caught my eye, and I didn't regret it.

I have found a few errors in the book, but those errors didn’t affect my experience. I can say that this book is professionally edited. The author used a lot of Romanian words that brought something special and unique in the book.

I am giving this book a solid 4 out of 4 stars for its rich writing, developed characters, and scenery. I enjoyed reading this book, and I recommend it for those who love good science fiction material packed with action and originality. Since there are murder scenes along with erotic scenes, I recommend this book to a mature audience only.

I personally enjoyed the scenes set in medieval times because they triggered my imaginations to wander off for a while.

The cover didn't give away much of the story though. It's a unique book indeed! Thanks for your review!

Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

Since the book is about vampires, Romania has to be the perfect location. Seems like the author mixed a lot of conventional fiction elements. Great review.
