I love how your write in a simple language, but yet manage to get across all the most important things about the book. I like the idea of this book. Expeditions into the unknown are always so much fun to read about.

This sounds like one hell of an adventure. It'd definitely be fun to follow this team of eight on their adventure to the forbidden land.
Great review.

What a beautiful review. The first chapter makes me want to read the book to know what really happened to uncle Randal and also Grants expedition.

I came across this book, Zona the last two reviews I did but scrolled past it. Because of your review I'm regretting it a little bit. Expeditions into the unknown would glue mu to the book. Great review.

I have mixed reactions based on your review. I would enjoy learning more about Russia and Grant's adventures searching for his uncle, but would prefer to avoid the sexual escapades. I am not sure whether to read or pass.

Baker has a good style, because he is easy to read. Also, this adventure story sounds fantastic for entering this colder season. Thanks a lot for your review.

A scientific expedition that is filled with the mystery of whether Grant will find his uncle dead or alive. It seems intriguing. I will like to give this book a try. Thanks for the review!

Russia is a country i know very little of so the knowledge of the people, their names, words, etc. Would be a thrill to me. The book title, though, does not signify that the expedition to the forbidden land formed a bulk of the work. I just assumed they would have adventures in a particular location. Other than that, it seems like a worthy read.

Your review was awesome! Something that really fascinated me about this book was that the hero is a little older (32) than what we usually see in other adventure novels. I think this is already what sets this book apart form others in a positive way because we will get to experience adventure from a different age group, I would love to read Zona!

The title of the book had me thinking it was a fantasy book about some mystery land. Thanks for the review and providing such useful insights about the book. It indeed sounds like a scary and exciting adventure. Thanks for warnings about the sexual content, deaths and drinking. Getting entangled with more than one women during a difficult journey sounds like drama. I wonder if his uncle is alive and what mystery is awaiting at the end of this expedition. I really enjoyed the honesty of your review.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting fantasy novel about a professor who travels to Russia to find his missing uncle. It might be worth a second look. Well done.
