Man, just this summer one of his books found its way to my hands, Jem i think was the title, and boy did I enjoy that book, I read the whole thing in two seatings, which is fairly unusual for me. Usually I don't read much sci-fi since Asimov's foundation serious burnt me out a bit and tired me, but that book restored my faith and when I feel that I need a break from my usual historical fiction and massacres of epic proportions, Pohl's books have been a very reliable source of entertainment. Also Douglas Adams is very dear to me but I am not entirely sure he falls in the same category. Certainly a very different writing style. All in all, Frederik Pohl is a definite yes if you're looking for good sci-fipaulmcneer wrote:I have read a lot of Sci-Fi and find it hard to pick a favorite, but I'll throw one out for you: Frederik Pohl - The Heechee novels. Very compelling stuff.
