Storm Warrior by Dani Harper

Has anyone read this? I picked it up impulsively at the library, but haven't started it yet.

This ended up being pretty good. Although I enjoy supernatural stories, I do not usually read the Faery genre, which this was. It was fairly well written and had an engaging storyline. I found myself really enjoying it about halfway to two-thirds through the book. However, I think the ending fell short. First, it did not focus as much on the actual Faery world as I would have thought, though that did leave me wondering more about it (which may have been the point:). Second, the ending felt very rushed to me. It was one of those books where I felt the climax was way too short and too close to the end. I like a little more complication in the resolution of the plot, and then some decent closure. Overall, I also think the author could have focused a little more on the connection between the two lead characters.

This appears to be the first in a series. From the excerpt of Book #2 that was provided at the end, it seems that the series remains focused on the same Faery world, but does not follow the same characters. I would probably give it 2.5 out of 4 stars, and may read the second book, though I am not in a rush to get it.

Although it left you wanting more, that was indeed the whole idea. They make more money if you only get one piece of the pie at a time. So, we will be spending more on the next installment to find out what happened to our favorites.
