Well, the point of a cautionary tale is that you read it so that you're aware of the danger. Thank you for your appreciation!LinaJan wrote: ↑27 Jul 2020, 16:46 Now that sounds like a chilling world to live in... More chilling when you know that we are, most likely, heading that way, and heading fast. I wish to read it but I am a little fearful that the idea of these things soon becoming reality will leave me overwhelmed. Regardless, I cannot unread what I read, so this is going onto my shelf
Thank you for such a thorough, insightful, and inviting review!

Asimov's overall vision of a technological future was optimistic, this novel is much more cautios. Thank you for your appreciation!Josephe-Anne wrote: ↑28 Jul 2020, 01:46 This book seems like it was inspired by the works of Isaac Asimov. Sometimes, it's frightening to think about what happens (and might happen) when technology is used without certain limitations. That is why we all need to be aware of potential consequences. This story may be fiction, but it is realistic.
Thank you for an excellent review.

There are indeed many possible changes waiting in the future, it's up to us to have the awareness we need to choose the positive changes and avoid the negative ones. Thank you for your appreciation!ReyvrexQuestor Reyes wrote: ↑29 Jul 2020, 23:36 In 2030, this will be the trouble with robots. God forbid, you will be dealing with non-sentient organisms, if organisms they could be called. When mechanical and logical judgment is handed down, there is no more room for some emotional " haggling" like when you have human judges. Artificial intelligence could have gone this far? Could robots hunt you down for purpose of revenge? Or worst, a robot might develop a crush on you, and you will have no place to hide, lol. These are just wild brainstorming, I've got to read the novel. Great review.

I totally agree. Thank you for your insightful comment!drwcroaker wrote: ↑30 Jul 2020, 16:52 This is why I love the sci-fi genre. When it's done well, it isn't technology that's evil but people who've found ways to use it to be evil to others. Thanks for your review.

Considering the book's important themes, I hope it will be read also by people who generally don't read this genre.
