Review by Lina-Hammami -- We are Voulhire: A New Arrival...
When his home was shredded by neverending war, Galen Bray found himself on a ship sailing to his land of dreams and peace, Voulhire. Galen had inherited a small property from his great uncle he had never met, and the whole world opened its doors to him.
Voulhire was an intricate land for naive Galen to fully grasp. It was a connecting land with the other cosmoses of magic. Ruled by a kind just king, who was like any other ruler encircled by rebels before comrades, Voulhire was handling a conspicuous threat set by the alleged king Wilhelm's former friend.
As the first book of a series, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies concluded, dropping manifold pending questions throughout the chapters of the book. This book served as the ideal enlightenment for the rest of the series, but the reader shall be aware that it's not a completed novel on its own, and unless you are willing to ascend to the rest, it's not the ideal selection of yours.
However, by that style of writing, Matthew Tysz succeeded in hooking my concentration in every individual chapter of this book. I enjoyed the approach he introduced every character to the reader and the style he used to paint the surroundings to feel more bound with the novel despite the confusion shortness of answers affords.
There is much more in Voulhire than the eye can see. By this, the author Matthew Tysz craftily leaves a variety of unclosed stories that were narrated by several characters. Each story was restrained in a separate chapter, highlighting a main character. I savored that easily absorbed way the reader can proceed along the novel.
Meanwhile, the writer included many morals from the beginning of the book. While it commenced with a description of the long war Galen had lived since childhood, the reader can relate to the many wars happening in different regions in the world, and appreciate the value of guarded life. It had additionally declared gratitude, loyalty, and friendship through the chapters to enrich the book.
Overall, I relished every part of this book. There was neither profanity nor erotic scenes, and the editing was good. I concede that as it was a part of a series, so judging the unanswered questions won't be fair. Therefore, I rate this book a 4 out of 4. I thoroughly acknowledge the author's dedication and the hard work he put in setting every detail on every single page in it. So, I urge you to read this book if you were like me, a science-fiction enthusiast.
