[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great skies is a science-fiction and fantasy book written by Matthew Tysz. The story is based on Galen Bray, who is from a place torn apart by war. His rich uncle has left a tremendous property for him which gave him the opportunity to shift to Voulhire, a prosperous country. The king of Voulhire, king Wilhelm, has secretly locked away an evil wizard named, Melodorath for the disgusting acts against the people of Hillport town. The town people believe Melodorath to be dead. To soothe and calm the devastated people of Hillport town, the king sends judge Eldus Alderman to be their new lord. Lord Eldus is sent not only to heal the wounds but also for boosting the economic situation and to ensure a prosperous life for the people.
Galen is a character with hope and desire for good. He has luck and determination. Before moving to Voulhire, Galen was a man who owns no fortunate career and spent life in grinding poverty among the diseased and the starving. What happens when Galen relocates to a rich and prosperous place like Voulhire? Will he grow stronger despite the chaos around him? What awaits Galen in Voulhire?
It feels like the author is establishing a good start for the upcoming adventurous and fantasy-filled series of this book. The author has created an extraordinary and beautiful world in this book. The reference of the map given in the starting of the story amplifies our imagination power. It helps to visualise the geographical area of the story. Dark magic, war, suspense and twist and turns are used in the perfect amount. There is nothing about the book felt like out of place. The character development is amazing.
This book contains all the elements like fantasy, mystery, suspense, hope, desire, war, bloodshed, dark magic and violence in it. The theme is innovative and creative. The story is packed with suspense and is hard to predict. This is a fast-paced story. The magic of the wizards adds mystery and suspense to the story. The mages are troublesome. They are characterised as specialists in biology and can do anything. The book is incredibly entertaining and immensely captivating.
I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The author did a good work by providing proper details to the character and geographic setting. Only a few mistakes are found while reading the book. But that didn’t alter my reading experience. The book is professionally edited. I would love to recommend this book to all who admires fantasy, magic, and action-packed books. I would not recommend this for children because this contains war, death, dark magic and explanation of paedophile. It also contains borderline profanity. The overall reading experience was awesome and I definitely want to continue reading the series of this book. After reading this book, I am sure that this is just a trailer for the upcoming epic series.
