Angel of MidKnight by Jennifer Coots

Post by Mune »

There are great writers that write horrible stories. There are wonderful stories not written by a great writer. Jennifer is a great writer in the making. With this first novel, in what will be at least three, her silver pen begins its journey. As with many self-published and first books, there are the occasional grammatical error or word slip, but nothing that will hang up the reader. The story is a roller coaster and delves in and out of conflict and complacency. Just when you feel bored with village life, something bursts the bubble of contentment that the protagonist resides in. I have read more books than I can ever account for, and I was quite taken with this one. The main character is highly relatable. The author tends to move between the first person perspective of the main character and the third person perspective of key characters, when the need arises. I was thrilled with the twists and turns.

SPOILER********

If you find yourself confused at the anachronisms, just wait. Eventually you come to realize these are not mistakes, but hints for something much more.
