Virko is a town in Voulhire with Lord Venden Hrelek as the Lord. Virko is a highly industrial city. Everything seems perfect in Virko until Lord Venden became critically ill and soon passed away. Virko is set to go the capitalist way and the men who wish to lead the city soon engaged in a power tussle. Hans Hrelek, Lord Venden's son has his own agenda entirely. He had something planned, but no one expected the turn out of events.

On the other hand, Galen and his friends had to go to Virko in search of iron for their town, Magnum Caelum. They met with Lord Venden who gave them what they needed but asked for something else in return. Will they be able to fulfill the promise made to Lord Venden? That is something you would have to find out in this book.

The book We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko by Matthew Tysz is the second book of the fantasy series We are Voulhire. The story was developed with a lot of new characters added to it. The new characters added made the book more interesting. I like the way the author introduces each character. He gives a brief background of each character which makes one relate with the characters.

I expected a continuation from the previous book, but the author didn't talk about it: like how Hillport was invaded by the Riva Rohavi. I expected retaliation from King Wilhelm, but we didn't get any of that from the author. I hope there will be something about that in the other books. The book did not lose its humor, and I liked it. In fact, one scene kept me rolling on the floor with laughter: the scene where Demetrius and his friends met the four priests.

The book has element of magic and demons in it. It deals with themes like religion and politics. There was a lot of violence and gory imagery which was not much in the previous book. We got to see Meldorath again, and what is next mission was.

I liked everything about the book. There was nothing I didn't like. The book was well edited with no errors. It is more interesting and suspenseful than the previous book. Because the story was intriguing and the book flawless, I give it a 4 out of 4 stars. I look forward to reading the next installment.

The book will appeal to lovers of magic and adventure. Because of the vulgar language in the book and the violence, I will not recommend it to a younger audience.
