The second book in the series “We are Voulhire – The Fires of Virko” is another amazing book. The second book is also a whirlwind of emotions. There are moments when I’m completely and utterly shocked and then there are those moments when I can’t stop laughing. It really pulls you into a vortex of fantasy, a completely different world where you are the hero. It makes you want to become a mage practicing different kind of magic. Although the world of fiction is huge, one can definitely start from here.

In this second book we follow Galen, Rowan and Demetrius as they travel to Virko for iron as Magnum Caelum didn’t had any iron reserves of its own. While in Virko they meet Lord Venden who wants them to fulfill his dying wish, he wants them to cleanse the Rendenhide castle from the demon that is bound there by his son Hans. Meanwhile, the Eiodi is worried about the actions of Meldorath, along with half of the city of Hillport that was slaughtered overnight. In Virko the young Lord of Rendenhide is going to lose all his authority and policing power to the captain of the city guard, after the death of his father. Hans is the official recluse of the city of Virko who never leaves his mansion. But there is something evil about him. He wants to kill the Captain; he wants Sovereign rule. What will he do? Will he let the ‘hell’ lose? Now with Eldus Alderman dead, Meldorath takes over the castle of Hillport along with his teacher Alabaster and trusted men Siden and Mestritio. As Meldorath discovers more secrets of the pathway between Cosmos and Caromentis the rest of the world stays in a shadow about his plan.

Yet again Matthew Tysz did it. The second book of the series is just as exceptional as the first one. A perfect combination mystery, adventure and fantasy. The book also contains certain elements of the real world which doesn’t makes it far fetched and the reader can relate to some parts. The book was written in such a way that it perfectly balances out the fantasy with reality.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book was exceptionally edited and I couldn’t really find any major errors. The story line is really interesting and makes you want to keep reading it. I like Rowan’s character, he is funny, resourceful, clever and loyal to Galen. There were some parts that were a bit uncomfortable like the issue about Kayden’s sexuality. Other than that, it was a good read.

This book is suited for an older audience as it contains profanity and sexual content. Also, some communities might not agree with a few parts as mentioned above. But fiction lovers, who love different worlds and magic would really enjoy this one as its as good as the first one. Overall, it was really interesting and most of the people would definitely agree with that.
