Galen Bray ventures to the industrious city of Virko from Magnum Caelum with Demetrius and Rowan to get iron for his forge. They meet Lord Venden Hrelek (the lord of Virko). Lord Venden asks Demetrius to chase away a demon called Sod, held captive by Hans Hrelek (Venden's son), from his house. Can Demetrius complete this task successfully?

Meldorath becomes the new Eoidi (head of the church of Destinism religion) after making Eodi Gadesh to disappear. Will the priests of Destinism accept his rule? Find out in the second novel of We are Voulhire novel series titled We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko. Matthew Tysz, the author of the novel, builds the plot of the story in a fascinating style which is very unpredictable. I couldn't predict that Meldorath's next move after getting Hillport town is to take over Yamon Soul district and become the new Eoidi of Destinism. This made the novel very mysterious and intriguing to reach to a point that, when I started reading, I did not want to stop until its end.

I can't wait to get the next novel in the series because of the author's ability to create suspense in the reader's mind. The skillful development of characters by Matthew Tysz impressed me. Eodi Gadesh is depicted as a caring and kind leader. He tells his guards not to interface in his fight with Meldorath because he does not want them to be hurt. He is also simple and humorous. I liked this character. Hans Hrelek is an evil and vengeful man. He uses Sod to kill Peter Tutoron (Lord Kayden's friend) and Gwendolyn (Lord Kayden's wife) because Lord Kayden dropped their friendship. I disliked this character. He is also secretive.

I also liked the way how Meldorath uses his magical virus to penetrate into people's thoughts. I was displeased by the escape of demons through Demetrius. The demons destroy the productive city of Virko and kill a number of people, yet Dementrius is an innocent and good man.

The novel is professionally well edited. I did not come across any typo or spelling error while I was reading. Due to the above reasons, I rate the second novel of We are Voulhire novel series 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend the novel to those who read the first novel in the series and fantasy readers. It contains gruesome scenes and profane words hence not recommended for young audiences.
