The Hand Bringer is a science fiction book on the extinction of vampirism authored by Christopher J. Penington. Peter Hadrian is a street cop in Dallas. After a report on an occurrence, Peter drives off to the place of the incident. He encounters a man with unfathomable strength whom even a bullet was nothing but a scratch. He comes out with injuries and is immediately rushed to the hospital. Not far away from the incident, they are diverted and head for ASA.

This private Governmental Agency genetically modifies Peter's body into a fighting being. He is then tasked with a mission back in time in medieval Romania to stop Vampirism that seems to have spread into the modern world. Apart from this, he is promised a reunion with his son who had disappeared long ago.

According to the ASA's analysis, vampirism originated from a legendary warrior, Prince Vlad Dracula. Together with his friend Luke, they endure ups and downs in Romania. There is war, fear, betrayal among many others that they must surpass to succeed. They come up with tactics and machinations to stop the evil disease. In the end, the will for a better life surpasses all terror.

The book is full of suspense, adventure, war and even love that blended together making the book very interesting. People and places have been described vividly by the author. The characters are very interesting. Luke is a loyal friend to Peter and together they are formidable. Peter is a determined man and also a good thinker. His plans are outlined very well with war tactics. Dr.Kolemis is an evil man with evil plans on the modern world.. Besides, the plot is easily understood. Themes of love, war, betrayal and reunion are present in the book.

There are few errors present in the book. The book was flawless, I enjoyed everything and absolutely nothing made it dull, therefore, I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I give it a perfect rating since the errors are just a few of them. I recommend the book for fantasy lovers. Some details are gory therefore it may not be good for children. It is a nice book and you too will enjoy.
