We Are Voulhire: The Fires Of Virko is a fantasy story that is part of a series that features a empire called Voulhire and its township. This is the second in the series and features new people that weren't in the previous book. This book focused more on Virko.

The story starts by describing the look of the Virkin forest during spring and then three men that were trying to take advantage of a woman but Folcro interfered, killing two of them. But it turned out that Cornelius, one of the men, was his friend and therefore spares him. Coming to the king's court is a farmer who was complaining of Mianora demanding more food, the king sorts that problem out, finishes the paper works and discusses about Lord Venden Hrelek who was sick for some time. Now Lord Venden Hrelek happens to be the one that setup and industrialized Virko and was Lord of the land. His son Hans who have been made lord was learning the research of Meldorath, the most dangerous man in the country. Now another new character called Kayden, a young man who has recently inherited his father's estate comes in scene. And then Galen and his friends Rowan and Demetrius are in Magnum Caelum going around business as usual at the forge.

The mayor Malcolm visited them and informed them of an incoming iron supply that has been claimed by Virko because the one who ordered it was dead. Then they prepare to go to Virko to resolve that issue. They meet Kayden who happens to be Demetrius's old friend, he told them who to see. They went to see the very sick Lord Venden and he promises to get them the iron in exchange for a favor; to cleanse his house of a demon that have been bound in the undercroft for a long while. They encountered the demon but couldn't kill it. They left it blinded where it has been bound and headed to the church to seek help from the priests there but found none. The next scene featured Meldorath who has recently taken over hillport and the visit of his old master at the lord's castle. To sum it all up, at the end, Meldorath kind of killed the Eiodi of the Kingdom and took over. The news of the Eiodi's death begins to spread and is told to the king.

The book had several subchapters bearing the name of the person who was being featured for that section, which kind of helped follow the story so I didn't get it mixed up. It had 158 pages and the author introduced his other books of this series and his other books at the beginning of the book. The story was mostly written in third person perspective except for the parts that had Galen headings and had lots of cultural differences.

What I liked about the book is its straight forwardness and simple style writing. Also there was lots of action in this one that I really loved. What I found wanting of this book is that some of the characters in the words were too close together I had to look hard to make it out, there were few errors that didn't bother with the flow of the story. It had profane words and other tedious words that I needed a dictionary to make out their meaning.

To sum it all up, I rate this book 4 out of 4 for its straight forwardness and simplicity. I recommend this book to whoever has no problem with profane words and love magical fantasy set stories. It will also help beef up your vocabulary.
