We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko is the second book in the “We are Voulhire” series. Authored by Matthew Tysz, the book is mainly focused on Virko.

Virko is an industrial town and one of the wealthiest cities in Voulhire. Lord Venden is the founder of this most successful city in a span of 25 years. After immigrating in Voulhire, lord Venden bought rendenhide house and built inns for travellers. Years later he puts up factories where people would work and soon it became a famous city. Now in his death bed, Lord Venden wants to replace feudalism with capitalism.

Lord Venden's son has his own plans set for this town. Being a quiet young Lord, Hans has been reading books of mystery and now he has his part in Alithaea, the spirit world. He has brought hell into this town. Galen, Rowan and Demetrius find themselves in Virko in search of iron for Galen's work in order to contribute in Magnum Caelum's success. Virko was Demetrius' home town. However, he feels a dark spirit in this town that was never there before. This arouses concern. Lord Venden's last wish is for demetrius to find the evil and cast it back to hell and cleanse his son who has been involved. Will Demetrius be able to succeed?

Dalehei Meldorath has come free from his prison. However, he still does not feel free. His plans are now set for King Wilhelm. First, he heads for Yamon Soul where he invokes the doctrine of Indarmo to unseat the prevailing Eiodi.

The book is flawless. The plot of the story is easily understood. People and places have been described vividly. The book is professionally edited. Nothing made the book dull. From the above I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars.

Galen is still determined and caring. Rowan wants adventure and exploration. Demetrius is a shy monk but now in the face of hell, he shows determination like no other. Besides, Demetrius has other ambitions that he has not displayed yet unto his friends. Through their bond, they help each other to survive despite their different characters.

The book has action that made it entertaining. Only a few profane words are present in the book and there are no erotic content. Themes of love, friendship and betrayal are present in the book. Finally, I recommend the book for people who love fantasy books.
