Official Review: Theory by Carlos
What would you do if you found out that you had a counterpart existing in another world? Would you agree to merge with your other half? Theory by Carlos is a fictionalized story about two different worlds: the real world and the 5-Gen world. The inhabitants of the 5-Gen are doppelgangers of the people in the real world.
Theory White is a notorious man and a drug addict. He is the producer of a show in the real world. He attracted the Black Syndicate (a body that fights crime) when he threw a young man off a skyscraper. And this man was his third victim. Selena Black led the Black Syndicate to arrest Theory for his crimes. But Theory isn't an easy man to apprehend, so Selena reports their challenges to Wu, the ruthless commander in charge of the 5-Gen world. Theory continued to torment them in the 5-Gen from an unknown location. Hence, Wu sends Selena back to the real world to eliminate Theory, since killing him there may also kill him in the 5-Gen. However, things become complicated when Selena develops feelings for Theory. Is Serena really in love with him? Will she be able to execute Wu's orders? You have to read this thriller to find out.
This novel is a fast-paced thriller. Honestly, I was blown away by this book. The epilogue is so catchy and captivating. Theory gave me a suspenseful and horrific reading experience from start to finish. The author's description of a massive behemoth was so terrifying. I could feel my heart thumping hard throughout my read. Theory is the first science fantasy book I have read, and it didn't disappoint. The plot was so unpredictable and intriguing. The clarity of events in the book felt so real as if I was watching them on a big screen.
The characterization is top-notch. The author developed unique and life-like characters. I never lost track of them all through the book. The descriptions and narrations of different scenes are impeccable, which helps to make it easy for the reader to follow. First, I liked Theory and empathized with him because he had lost his soulmate. But my favorite character is Selena Black. You can blame it on my love for strong female protagonists. I fell in love with Selena because of how tough and fearless she was, even in the face of danger.
I am recommending this book to lovers of fantasy books. This book was everything I could wish for in a Sci-fi book. I still feel that I lack words to do justice to it. It is unsuitable for younger readers due to its horror and sexual content. There is nothing I disliked about this book. Also, it is professionally edited, with minor typos and lots of profanities. Therefore, I happily award Theory a perfect four out of four stars.
