Tandem, by Anna Jarzab is a young-adult sci-fi novel centered around the idea of parallel universes. The main character, 16 year old Sasha ,lives in Chicago with her grandfather as her parents are dead. All her life she's dreamed of Princess Juliana a girl exactly like her living in another world. But until she is transported to that universe (aurora) she doesn't think much of it. In order to return home, Sasha must pretend to be the princess, who has gone missing a few weeks before her arranged marriage, to save the country. Few know who she really is, and in order to save herself, she'll have to unravel the real truth behind what is truly going on in Aurora. At first this book kind of scared me. The whole "parallel universe" thing can be quite touchy and if its not done in a correct way, can be incredibly confusing. Jarzab eases that though with her great world building and explanation of how the multiverse works. Trust me, you won't regret reading this book. Not only was it a very good read, but now I can understand what "parallel universes" are.
