Lessons from an Evil Mind was a great book. Shawna Stewart did a wonderful job in creating the perfect atmosphere for this book. This book truly shows its readers the meaning of evil. The never ending battle, between good and evil, lives on.The book is gruesome to an extent and the tortures he puts her though to learn his “lesson” will make you cringe.

The book starts out with Lue locked away in a basement (or so I assume by the description) held captive by a man, in a simple black mask, that she dose not know. She is constantly assaulted by the masked man and he loves to inflict pain upon her. She has very little idea of how many years she has been trapped with him or how long she will be forced to live a life of solitude and pain.

She is shown other girls that endured unimaginable pain until death had taken them from the lack of existence he had given them. Fear and pain is the only world that Lue knew in her years in that basement. She contemplated how one human could be so evil like the masked man. She strives to keep her sanity in the mist of her experiences but she hears voices inside her head.

She manages to escape the house and is rescued but things do not turn out as she had hoped. She goes home to find that the masked man has taken her parents and the man she once wished to marry was now married to someone else. She finds her self falling in love with Angel, the man who found her. He seems to be the perfect person but she soon learns that he might not be the man she though he was. Lue finds herself in a battle between good and evil. She discovers the man in the mask was someone she had known for years. Someone she would never expect to do any harm to her. Through the twist and turns of the story, she finds herself feeling confused and wondering if the years she spend with the masked man has truly taken a toll on her sanity.

I give this book 3 out of 4 stars. This book is a perfect fit for adult fiction. The way it was written was exceptional. Many times I cringed myself with the images my imagination formed of what I had read. The only issues I had with this book was the grammar and spelling are not perfect.
