After some time, Galen Bray has finally settled down in Magnum Caelum, where he became the master blacksmith in his uncle's forge. He found friendship in Rowan and Demetrius. Together, they went to Virko to seek a reserve of iron. However, they did not expect that their stay at Virko would become an adventurous one.

Lord Venden Hrelek established the town of Virko, where he allowed peasants to become nobles. His legacy will forever live on even after his death. Before he died, Galen, Rowan, and Demetrius were able to secure iron in return for one favor. That is for Demetrius, a monk, to perform an exorcism on Folcro because Lord Venden believed that his son had been possessed by dark powers bound to the house.

As a second installment in the series, We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko had more elements of magic, evil, and science as compared with the first book. It also presented politics and the personal interests of those in power, which made the book somehow realistic. This book showed how knowledgeable the author is when it comes to philosophy. It was written from multiple points of view, which allows the readers to understand the characters' personalities and interests.

I have nothing negative to say about this book. I loved the fact that Matthew Tysz included backstories of the characters because, in that way, the readers would appreciate the characters more. I would also like to acknowledge the strong vocabulary used in the story. I think that it made me visualize the scenes better. I loved the characterization, as well as the dialogues between the characters. They are very natural and witty, especially the quips between Rowan and Demetrius.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book was well-written and professionally edited. I loved how the author built the momentum and kept me engaged in reading his book. I also loved how he was able to fit the story cohesively in a 158-page book. I was really impressed by the author's writing and storytelling skills.

I highly recommend this book to readers who are not sensitive and faint-hearted because this book contains heavy scenes. I think those who like reading fantasy novels would also enjoy this book. It is not suitable for children because there were instances of violence and profanity. Yet again, another wonderful book from Tysz. I will definitely read the next installment in the series.
