We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is fantasy fiction with a fantastic story based on an imaginary space and time. Matthew Tysz takes readers into a fictional universe of a prosperous kingdom of Voulhire. As the title says, the story involves predominantly around two men, Galen Bray and Eldus Alderman, who arrived at their new home recently. Galen came from Lands of Princes, a war-torn nation, to settle in the kingdom of Voulhire with his great uncle's help; Eldus is the newly appointed lord of Hillport from Soulhire, the capital city of the kingdom.

As new arrivals are learning to adapt to their new environments and neighbors, opportunities and challenges await them. Galen inherited a forge and some decent amount of money from his great uncle that enables him to start a new career as a blacksmith. Eldus heard of incidents of missing children and livestock in Hillport and is keen on uncovering the truth. He found the witnesses and victims of those incidents and promised to help them but they did not willing to cooperate because they are afraid the unknown supernatural power will against them.

Like many other readers, I enjoy reading the book from its beginning to its end. Mr. Tysz is indeed a talented storyteller, who pays attention to the details from the surrounding environments to the physical and psychological features of its main characters. From distinguish clothing style of a crazy senior wizard, a naive immigrant with little clue of the lifestyle and habits of people he encounters, to an abandon property that has been neglected for some time.

The book deserves the perfect score 4 out of 4 as a range of aspects is perfect. First, it is professionally edited. I could not spot any typographical or grammatical errors. Second, the book includes a clear map and a comprehensive glossary, which are a plus because the book contains a range of locations and concepts that is foreign to me. I am really easy to get lost if I could not figure out the relative direction of the place. For example, a river runs through a city, another town is at the northeast of the city. Last, the headings consist of the main characters involved in the section so it is quick and easy to refer previous parts of the same story line.

Although there are combat scenes, no explicit violence description involved so I recommend every teenager and adult who enjoy fantasy story to pick up a copy of the book and to explore the new world with Matthew Tysz.
