The Darkest Minds

Post by Bedtimestories »

The Darkest Minds is written by Alexandra Bracken and the main characters are Ruby, Liam, Charles (Chubs), Suzume and Clancy. Genre: science fiction. The second book is called Never Fade.
When Ruby woke up on her tenth birthday, something about her had changed. Something alarming enough to make her parents lock her in the garage and call the police. Something that gets her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government “rehabilitation camp.” She might have survived the mysterious disease that’s killed most of America’s children, but she and the others have emerged with something far worse: frightening abilities they cannot control.
.
Now sixteen, Ruby is one of the dangerous ones.

omggggg!!!!!
BEST. BOOK. EVER.
I cannot even describe how much I loved this book! Very well written with an engaging story! Ahhhhhhhhh! I had to re-read the ending four times. It has a creative plot and I like the fact that Liam and Ruby fall in love through out the book and not instantly. I think in most books the boy and the girl fall in love right away in the 4th chapter haha. I AM SO EXCITED TO READ NEVER FADE!!! Trust me, if you pick up this book, you will never ever ever get bored of it. Oh my goshhh when she talks about the day of her birthday I just wanted to cry so muchhhh. I won't write more because i will just give away the story. I recommend it to everyone. I give it 5/5.

I really liked this book but obviously am not gushing as much as you did about it. Of course while the plot was interesting and good, i wasn't too shocked with the ending and ended up being like "really....you pulled THAT card" still besides that i enjoyed it
Just a girl with a banjo and some books...minus the banjo
Also a booktuber :)

This book is very interesting to me because I have recently gotten into the YA dystopian craze after reading Divergent. I like The Darkest Minds because not only is it dystopian but it is also Sci-Fi with the kids having powers. I am almost done with it and have already ordered Never Fade so that I jump right into it as soon as I finish TDM.

Wasn't this a wonderful book?

I don't read too many young adult books, but someone recommended this one to me. Let me just say…I finished it in two days. Some parts were a little predictable, but I already loved the story and the characters too much to care. Such a brilliant piece of writing. I honestly cannot wait until the third book is released. 4/5

This book does what all great books do... break your heart. The first book of the three book series was recommended to me by a great friend of mine (she was sobbing at the time). It's a distopian/disease book that is soo common now days, but the book shines because of its characters. You cheer for them the entire series, even the "bad guy" you love. In all the books you are never sure what will happen next, although the end left too many questions for myself I don't regret reading them.

i am totally crazy in love with this book! I can't wait to read the next two! I was a little worried that this book wouldn't live up to the hype that it was getting in the YA community but it most defiantly did! I ended up crying at the end! I decided to finally pick up this book after seeing it sooooo many times on booktube (the bookish part of youtube). I am not regretting the purchase of this book in the slightest and I am totally hoping to get the next very very soon! The characters and concept is really unique to me because I have never read something with both a distopian world and disease like this. I fell in love with Chubs and Zume right away and loved watching the growth of the two older characters Liam and Ruby. I have no idea where the story will take me next after the ending of the first book but i am sure I will love it! :P

I just started reading it and am already really enjoying it. I have the second one also. I am reading it for a a Dystopian 2016 Challenge. So this is the first one, I am reading for the challenge. Trying to decide if I will read the second book right after or chose a different Dystopian book next. Than read the second one next week when I have money. So this way I can read the last two back to back. It will probably depend on how long it takes me to finish the first one.

I got done reading the book late last night and I have to say the book was freaking awesome. I am so in love with Liam. And I am really starting to love Ruby as well. Can't wait to read book 2 and 3.
