Voulhire is a kingdom of dream with a fun and prosperous life. For Galen who came from a place with an apposite condition, to set foot on Voulhire was impossible. With hardly sufficient preparation, Galen was shipped from The Land of Princes to Voulhire—specifically to Magnum Caelum—to fill in his uncle’s place as the most respected blacksmith in town. Galen had almost zero knowledge about the city, let alone blacksmithing. But he had the things most men do not have: integrity, kindness, tenacity, and modesty. Galen was so naive, and without his uncle executor’s help, he would not be able to get around the city safely after he set foot in it. Coincidently, Voulhire was having problems from across its cities. Galen was enjoying the first days of his life in Magnum Caelum. But little did he know, he might encounter the downfall of Voulhire because of the threat from another universe. Will Galen able to handle what comes next?

We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a novel with a whole new magical world. This is the first book of an ongoing series We Are Voulhire. The story is wrapped clear enough for an introduction to the multiverse that Matthew Tysz created. At first, everything was confusing because of the unfamiliar terms about everything. Regarding this, Matthew Tysz provided a reference list about the terms at the end of the book. I really encourage you to reach that list every time you find an unfamiliar word. Otherwise, you will find the story very hard to follow. Moreover, on his website, there is also information about the cities and dynasties of the kingdom.

Although the story centres around the new-man-in-town Galen, we also get to read from other characters’ perspectives to understand the problems that haunt the kingdom. While we can enjoy the beauty of every corner of the kingdom is from Galen’s perspective, we are also given a bit of the eerie vibe from other functionaries’ perspective. I really want to see Galen’s involvement in protecting Voulhire in the next book. I have so many questions about him: can an honest man like him survive in Voulhire? Will he be the key to Voulhire’s future? Will society accept his way of thinking towards Voulhire?

I have no negative comments about this book. I am glad I found some words that I have to look up in a dictionary which I think indicates a high level of vocabulary in this book. I found no typing and grammar errors while reading. Also, the chapters are neatly arranged, so they do not confuse the reader.

I am giving We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to young adults who like fantasy, magic, and also royal conflicts. This book is promising with its new world and multiverse. I enjoyed the book as a fantasy enthusiast, and I can't wait to read the next book.
