Official Review: Song Quest (spooilers)

The Emporium Sequence takes place on an isle where the students are raised to become singers, those that use the power of song to heal,laugh,calm,dream, and even kill. When her year class goes down to the beach for the day Rialle,the main character, gains a headache that seems to grow worse and worse through the day. Soon she begins to hear voices however theyre faint until she wades into the water and the voices explode in her mind making her faint and almost drown in the tide.
It is then that our young Rialle is told she has the gift to hear the merlee, mermaid like creatures but more scaley. In turn it becomes her duty to go on a journey to see why the merlee are so distraught and calling upon her so harshly. Another young singer who runs away from the isle with a pirate, Kherron finds out that there are ships hunting the merlee to capture their eggs. Both Rialle and Kherron in their own time find out that this hunt is the work of mountain ruler.
Though it isnt until later that they find each other again to stop the lord, both Rialle and Kherron risk their lives to stop him from hunting the merlee. They also find out that a Khizpriest named Frazhin has not only been poisoning the mountain ruler the Karchlord Azri but also has plans to destroy the singers isle and has kidnapped Rialle to try to force her to sing for him.
However Rialle refuses and even asks the merlee to help delay the ship and so Frazhin pushes her off the ship once it starts to sink. He is then attacked by the bird like creature, the quetzal.
A couple days after this on sea battle between the force Azri brings and Frazhin and his small batch of priests a treaty is signed at the isle in that Azri promises to never hunt any of the half creatures again.Rialle is returned to the isle by the merlee. Rialle though tramatized from her time in captivity relizes that even with the death of the 1st and 2nd singers of the Echorium and a friend missing an arm, theyll be alright at least for the time being.
