Why shouldn't we blame God for our misfortunes? Or should the devil take credit for every calamity that strikes the earth? Why does Christianity postulate that we are all born sinners? Does this mean that we are doomed from birth? Indictment by Marlon O Cole has allowed three men to petition God and engage Him in a discussion that seeks to respond to the questions posed by human beings.

Lawrence (lawyer), Matthew (mathematician), and Calvin (chemist) are scholars, who managed to hack into the portal that leads to Eden. They, therefore, were allowed by God to bring their case before Him. They sought answers about aspects such as the origin of diseases and viral infections, the reason for calamities, and other tragedies, whose origin was beyond human comprehension. Calvin, specifically, asked God a controversial question, which caught Him off guard. Although God knew that the triumvirs were intelligent, He did not expect them to challenge His perspectives to an extent of leading Him - God - to adjourn the talks and feign sleepiness. Cole has allowed God to respond to all the nine charges brought forth by the atheists, in a way that left both parties, God and the three scholars, satisfied.

Written in a poetic style, I commend Cole's simplistic presentation of his ideas in this book. His manipulation of poetic license and extensive use of rhetorical questions is excellently done. For a book whose subject matter is centered around philosophical discourse, the author's choice of words and simplicity in Language use enhanced my concentration throughout the book. His ability to reduce God's enigmatic self to the level of human beings without appearing blasphemous is equally well-done.

The use of metaphorical statements by God triggered my curious mind to think about the author's primary concerns for writing this book. As a result, I was able to resonate with the grievances that humans had petitioned to God. I managed to equally relate with the universal concerns that humans always have on the existence of God and the question about how far His holistic sense would stretch. I also appreciated the author's acknowledgment of the existence of a Supreme Being, whose ways and actions are still open to question. I loved how the author blended science with religion, without appearing biased towards one discipline. This is definitely what I loved most about this text.

Although this book's conclusion leans towards the Christian perspective of life, it can be read and enjoyed by readers of any denomination because it does not contradict the doctrines of any religious institution. Hence, I recommend it to lovers of philosophical discourse and readers of poetry alike. There is nothing that I did not like about this book; in addition to its positive attributes, it is professionally edited and does not contain any grammatical errors. I happily rate it four out of four stars.
