I have read the first and am half way through the 2nd. I very highly recommend these books. The writing is great and am really falling for the characters. The book in my opinion starts out a little slow but stick with it because the story line is great. If you enjoy magic based fantasy with plenty of adventure you should deffinately give this book a try. The 2nd book so far is better than the first and I love that it begins right where the first ended.

Patrick Rothfuss has spun an amazing and captivating tale with the Kingkiller Chronicles. I highly recommend it. As someone else mentioned, it does start out slow (like most books) and it picks up the pace quickly. My husband and I are patiently awaiting the third books release, but we both have placed them in our top five.

Kingkiller Chronicles is one of the best books I have read. The prose style has a beauty of its own. If you love reading engaging conversations and beautifully scripted events, then the book is a must read. Apart from the writing style, what engaged me most with the book is the author frankness with the protagonist. The protagonist is not a pure, guiltless hero as many books in the genre project. The protagonist is an opportunist. He takes claims for actions which he has not had a hand in too. That being said, the protagonist has his own share amazing events in the book. Moreover, the romance between the protagonist and his love interest has been crafted so poetically that it leaves you wanting to fall in love with a in such a manner.

To put it in one word, the book is "Fantastic."

Kvothe is a bit ludicrous and unbelievable but the writing style is incredible. It's easy to forgive a main character that's incredible at everything(and I do mean everything) when so incredibly well done.
