Diving into a world full of magic and unknown dangers, we get a perfect view of a fictional, medieval time in a book called "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies," written by Matthew Tysz. It starts by introducing a scene where a powerful man named Meldorath reveals the crimes of a lord in a struggling village, but he is soon betrayed by the king of Voulhire. Throughout the story, more information comes to light, along with the rumors of Meldorath's death saying he was really an evil man, not a hero. We also meet Galen, who has just recently escaped from a war-ridden land called The Lands of the Princes. He begins to learn how to have a simple life, and is completely grateful to the people he views as his saviors. The country of Voulhire is in a golden age, but lurking in the shadows is an enemy long thought to be extinguished, growing their strength in secret. What repercussions will the king and Voulhire face for his past decisions? How will Galen's path intertwine with the dramatic events that occur around him?

This book contains a lot of positive attributes that make it a very interesting read. I love how the structure is formed around a different character for each chapter. It leaves a mysteriousness where the reader will have no idea what will happen next unless they keep reading. This also reveals to us that Galen is the main character, because his chapters are all in first person, while the rest are in third person. The titles of the chapters are helpful, because with each new character, it identifies them. This book seems to be professionally edited, I saw no errors and it is very well-written. This story is enticing to read based off of the ominous tone where you expect everything is building up to an ultimate event that has yet to take place. There is so much originality to be see here, from the names of the cities to the map that is located at the beginning pages. There is no confusion to be seen in the reader's mind, because of the reference guide at the end that gives the details and definitions of all the names, places, and things that is invented by Matthew Tysz.

There is not much negativity to say about this book. I only ask there to be more written within what is given to us. When gathering as much information as possible, even the tiny details, nothing is given away to how it ends.

I rate this 4 out of 4 stars. This was a perfect book for me, and I believe it will be loved among others as well. There were no mistakes, the story was extremely fun to read, and it ended with a great cliffhanger that makes me want to look out for the next book.

I highly recommend this book to people who have a fascination with fantasy. There is profanity and a little violence, so an adult audience is more suitable. This book keeps you engaged with the story the whole time, while building up to the plot's climax in a way that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It goes above and beyond the qualities of a good book and I hope to read the next one soon.
