The story begins with Thoral Mighty Fist, the protagonist of the book, drinking warm ale in a bar. His sidekick is a whiskered koi fish called Brad. The plot is set in the world of Grome. Thoral Mighty Fist feels restless and frustrated with life as he goes from one adventure to another. One might even say that he is seeking death itself. He is courageous and brave. In one of his adventures he saves an elfish princess, who immediately takes up a liking towards him. The elf king throws him a feast to show his gratitude. In that feast, Thoral Mighty Fist comes to know about the deaths of the elves and vows to kill their villain. As the story progresses, the readers are introduced to The Heartless One, the evil leader of the Bad Religion. Thoral Mighty Fist must stop the villain from getting his hands on the Pudding of Power. Also, the story explores the past of Thoral Mighty Fist and his family. What did Thoral Mighty Fist find out about himself? Did he stop the villain? Read the book to find the answers.

Fish Wielder by J.R.R.R. Hardison is an amazingly written humorous fantasy book. What I most loved in the book is the description of the fight scenes. For instance, It was very funny to imagine Thoral Mighty Fist covered in spider juice and gunk. The next thing I enjoyed would be the characterization. I loved how the author gave realistic, yet funny details about the characters. For example, the elves in the book were gluten intolerant. Thoral Mighty Fist has a magical paper to wipe because he cares about his hygiene. These kinds of information make the characters funny and relatable. The author's love for pudding is obviously noted from the book. There is a pudding prescribed for almost everything. Another thing I liked in the book is, how Thoral Mighty Fist has difficulty finding the right word to use for a certain situation. His trusted sidekick, Brad provides him with suggestions. This was actually cute because I do the same with my mom. She finds it very hard to find the right word.

Another thing I enjoyed in the book is that the descriptions of the smell, given by the author. For example, the author says, that the dungeon smells like cumin and cocoa. This instantly gives the readers more information about the setting. It's easy to create the scene in our head, when we know more details about the setting.

Things that I didn't enjoy much in the book was the ending. I didn't like the cliffhanger, and also it appeared to be a little sudden. I understand that the author wanted to leave some unanswered questions for the sequel but it kind of irritated me a little. Apart from this, everything else about this book was lovely. I am not a big fan of adventurous novels, but I really enjoyed this one.

The book was exceptionally well edited. I would like to rate the book 4 out of 4 stars . I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Furthermore, I really liked the twist at the end. The plot is extremely well written with conviction and complexity. I would like to recommend this book for the fans of "How to train your dragon?" , "The Narnia series", "Lord of the Rings", "The Wizard of Oz", and "Matilda" . This book is perfect for anyone who wants to escape into a funny magical world.
