Traversing worlds beyond our cosmos into a realm of magic threatened by nations at war over its power and dominion, of such is the great epic created by author and visionary, Matthew Tysz.

In We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, we go on a journey with Galen Bray as he boards a ship to another land in hopes of building a new life for himself. From his inheriting a property left by a deceased relative to learning the ways of forging, we are taken into the ebb and flow of this young man's coming of age. Will he find his rightful place among the people of Magnum Caelum? The street-smart and charming Rowan becomes his mentor in navigating his way around this new environment that he finds himself in. From trekking the alcoves deep in the mining town of Alcovia where they find precious metals and a stone that may not be of this world, to seeking counsel from the wise ones of Yamon Soul where they encounter a monk who happens to know the origin of this mysterious stone.

Woven with adventure, legends, and action, this story is sure to engage one's imagination from beginning to end. I love that every chapter is narrated by a different character, allowing us multiple insight into the heart of the story. As the reader, I want to be able to see the story from as much angle as possible.

There are dark themes in this story that may not be suitable for young and sensitive readers. Although it did not affect my experience at all, I still love it. I am now looking into The Fires of Virko, which is the second book in this series.

Readers who appreciate the art of world-building and exploring the idea of a multiverse will surely enjoy this book. For a story with such a complex plot, I find it to be well executed and thoroughly edited with no errors; therefore, it is deserving of a perfect rating of 4 out of 4 stars.
