Galen, a refugee from the war-torn Lands of the Princes is welcomed with open hands by the kingdom of Voulhire one starry night. Days after his arrival, he set out in search of iron for his new forge. This journey into Alcovia turns into an adventure in its own right as he is led into a cave where he discovers a strange object. Ignorant of what this might be, his partner, Rowan, encourages him to seek an imbuer in the holy city of Yamon Soul to tell him what that object might be. That marks the beginning of his adventures in the kingdom of Voulhire. While Galen is busy discovering Voulhire for himself, enemies of Voulhire are scheming in the dark, waiting patiently for the right time to strike Voulhire and bring about its doom.

This novel titled We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is the first book in the We Are Voulhire series that is written by Matthew Tysz. This novel does not focus on just one character as many novels out there would. It tells the stories of other characters like Meldorath, the soldiers of the Riva Rohiva, the King of Voulhire, and so many more. Each of the chapters bears the name of the character on whom that chapter would focus. One thing that I noticed is that most of these characters never crossed paths. I wonder if they ever would in subsequent books in the series.

I know the whole book is interesting, but one thing that I could not stop myself from doing was rushing through chapters just so that I could get to those involving Galen and Rowan. It is not that I found Galen to be an interesting man worthy of all the attention in the world. Rather, I fell in love with both his discovery of certain truths about Voulhire and Rowan, his friend. His chapters made me understand the parts of Voulhire that he visited more and more and this is fast becoming a land that I would have loved to visit if it were real.

I could not bring myself to dislike anything about this greatly interesting novel. When it comes to entertainment, the book scores a hundred. It scores the same for editing and plot development. On the issues of editing, I would have you know that I did not see any error in it. I am impressed by the amount of work the editing team put into editing every single paragraph in this novel.

Now, this page-turner of a book gets a perfect rating of 4 out of 4 stars for its interesting and well-developed plot, there are zero errors, and the fact that it ended in a manner that makes me want to grab its sequel the first chance I get. This novel is perfect for those that love good magic, adventure, and fantasy novels. If you fall into that category, as long as you do not mind the use of curse words, you will enjoy reading this book.
