We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a book by Matthew Tysz. Tysz believes that chaos is the muse of creation, and that a good story is driven by the choices that are made in the wake of madness.
Tysz's creation, We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, is the first book in the nine book series. It follows a young and humble immigrant from a war-torn land who has inherited a great piece of land in Voulhire from his uncle. In another unreachable part of the kingdom lies the Riva Rohavi. They are rebels and want to destroy all those contribute to the prosperity of the land that they hate. In the south of Voulhire's shores, is an island which holds the most powerful wizard a prisoner. The king wants to guard his nation and needs the support of the Mianoran knights. He also appoints a new lord to the little town of Hillport who wants to bring riches for his people. In these times, the grateful refugee vows to do right by the people of this kingdom, the kingdom that gave him a new life.
The book contained and portrayed a wonderful story of a fantasy land full of magic. The setting and the background of the individual characters was perfectly narrated. It was very interesting how, at the end of this book, the stories started to merge here and there. There were some twists and turns in the story and it made me wonder about them for so long. The author, Tysz, has successfully written the book to capture and involve the reader's attention and mind. This was what I found positive in the book. To make things interesting, there is also a map of Voulhire at the starting of the book and a glossary of the different terms and names related to the fictional universe, at the end of the book.
There was nothing negative in the book that I found. There is no sexual activity described in the book but there are some terms used which are related to sex and are slang words.
I would give the book 4 out of 4 stars because I really enjoyed reading the journeys and experiences of the main characters in the story. Every individual plot is as interesting as the next one and it keeps the reader engaged with the book. Most of all, it connects the story to the second book in the series. The book is also exceptionally edited and I found no grammatical or spelling errors.
I would recommend this book for young adults and teenagers, and all those who like the fantasy genre. But generally, I think whoever reads this book is sure to like it and enjoy the characters and the amazing way their stories start to weave into one at the end.
