Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
Amidst the wars happening in his land, Galen Bray somehow manages to escape from his land to a place where his uncle spent his own fortune spending in the forge in Voulhire. Magicians, hard working people, powerful and intelligent people resided in Voulhire. It was a land where someone couldn't have an excuse for beign a failure. Meldorath was still one of the biggest fears of people of Voulhire even after King Wilhelm declared he's dead. But , is he really dead? Is Voulhire now safe with all their prosperities? What is Galen Bray whose is unaware of anything in Voulhire going to do now?
Matthew Tysz uses employs different method to express his characters in We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies. Even though different characters were introduced at different points in the story it did not interrupt the flow. There is even a map at the beginning of the book to help us to get a clear understanding of the kingdom of Voulhire. Matthew Tysz used simple language throughout the whole book. The characters were all different. I liked Rowan way more because he was a funnier and a sarcastic guy and a good companion for Galen Bray . The best thing about the book is how Matthew Tysz explained the scenes in the story. It was astonishing how author took us along with his characters throughout the entire story. Every fine detail of each character was specified very proffessionally.
There is nothing in this book which i didn't like. Even though characters were introduced one by one, they were very well executed. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is the first book of the We are Voulhire series, so the chaos is to be expected.
The characters Matthew Tysz brought into were so different and inclusive that i felt i became a part of them. The effort he put into imagining the scene is breathtaking . I rate it 4 out of 4 stars considering how well he presented a very vast land and its whole belongings. He also presented emotions of each character naturally. This book didn't tire me because every thing was very well brought out by the author.
This is a sci-fi book generally biased towards adult audience because of the use of very little profane words. This book is professionally well edited as there is just very few mistakes that i found out. If you enjoy reading sci-fi this is a book i recommend. This book is just the introduction. Lets find out what author got us in the rest of the books.
