The Wicked series by Nancy Holder is one that I have re-read 4 times already since the last book came into publication. Her writing style uses french terminology that the reader can figure out either through translations or context provided. The story covers centuries of family histories for two very important magickal families along with the deception that started the feud that has caused casualties in both families. This feud dates back to the creation of the song of Scarborough Fair and carries through multiple countries and a few continents with the Deveraux family practically hunting the Cahors/Cathers family. They both cause fires, floods, accidents, and drownings to try and take out the other family. This series also shows the difference in White magick and dark magick with details of ceremonies and rituals. I know several pagans/wiccans that have thoroughly enjoyed this series for the content and history.

I highly recommend this series to anyone because of the hypnotizing quality and the detailed storyline.

Your review was very concise, but you still got your point across. In today's writer's world, we all have to learn to condense, condense, condense. You pack a lot into a single short paragraph. That can be an advantageous skill.

That can be difficult, can't it? I take notes while I'm reading... I tend to miss certain details if I don't... Being able to do things from memory is an advantageous gift. I wish I had Sherlock's memory.

I have ADHD and my attention to detail is to trivial things that struck a note with me, but anyone else reading the books would not notice. I can remember the outfits described or settings and places mentioned, but I have difficulty remembering names and storyline details until I start looking at the descriptions I remember. I have picked up books that seemed like an interesting read, and I'll love them for the first chapter or 2 and then I'll realized I've already read it, but it's been 4 or 5 years since I did so.

I suck with names in books, well, most books, but that, I think, is because the names most authors give their characters are so freaking common! I mean, Nicholas Nickleby I remembered from the first time I heard it, and Oliver twist, Harry Potter, Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, Gandalf the Grey... I really don't blame you for that kind of memory loss, and I DON'T have ADHD.
