Best book I’ve read all year! Absolutely brilliant! I genuinely can’t believe it took me so long to read it.
Fractured is the second book in the series. I gave Slated four stars because whilst I loved it, it seemed like not an awful lot happened in the book. On the other hand, Fractured had everything I loved about Slated and more! There was no chance of me saying not a lot happened, it was so action packed and gripping and just ‘asdfhhjmshdk’. (I can’t express my love for this book coherently as you can see!)
This book made me laugh, it made me cry, it had me gasping in shock and nervously turning the page because I just had no idea what was going to happen next. It was just everything a book should be. Twists and turns, shocks and heart-stopping moments galore.
The characters were plentiful, beautifully detailed and complex. Each had their own story and I managed to, if not relate then at least sympathise or understand, each character, even the ones we should hate.
A lot of books nowadays are fairly predictable and you can guess the plot twist fairly early on. Not with Fractured. No, fractured had me guessing right up to the last page, with layers of mystery and suspense and plot twists. Characters had secrets I never guessed at and I was constantly surprised and gripping my book in shock.
Teri Terry’s writing is perfect in this book. Every single scene had me feeling everything right along with the characters, and when she was describing how the characters were feeling it was that detailed and perfect that she was practically describing exactly how she was making me feel. Utter genius.
I’ve purposely tried not to review or mention the events of this book because I don’t want to spoil it for you. My advice? Go and read Slated right now and then buy Fractured and read it too, and I guarantee you’ll be straight back here thanking me or frantically informing the author that you think they are the best person ever and if they don’t hand over a copy of the third book right this second you’ll burst into tears.
I loved this book. Everything about it was exactly perfect and I’m feeling heartbroken both from the events of the book and the fact that I’ve finished it and have to wait until next year for the third book. But overall, I recommend this highly!
