Steel Reign: Flight of The Starship Concord by Braxton A. Cosby is a science fiction novel that is set in deep space that spans out through multiple galaxies. It follows the life of a former spy and war hero as he tries to survive in Proxima Centauri. Reign’s journey is marred by bad luck and trouble as both the good and bad people hunt him due to his allegiance during the war.

Sparred on by the need to find his sister and a cure for his terminal illness, he sets out with limited resources on a journey throughout the galaxy to find both. This puts him on a path filled with adventure and self-reflection. He encounters former friends and partners during this final mission. This journey also pushes him to have a change of mindset, from a loner to being open to work with a team.

The book is captivating and very motivational depending on the reader’s point of view. What I liked most about the book was how Reign changes throughout the journey he is on. He starts out as loner and does not trust anyone, but that gradually changes and causes him to reflect on his past actions making his growth all the more educational.

The authors character description and interactions are accurate and relatable to the reader although it is a fictional book. The character development makes one to be invested and also how he describes the various scenes from the ships to the places paints a vivid picture in one’s mind capturing and expanding ones imagination making the read enjoyable.

There was nothing to dislike about the book, however, there are some few errors in the book like how the author substitutes word with numbers. This indicates that the book is professionally edited. There are some instances of profanity and sexual content spread out across the book. It does not tackle any aspect of religion therefore not offensive to ones beliefs.

The book is suitable to those who love science fiction and action packed stories. It can also capture the open minded and those who believe the possibility of life in space. I recommend it to the adventurous types that tend to let their imaginations run wild. The author does a great job writing this book making it interesting and sometimes jaw-dropping fusing suspense, action and comedy perfectly. I therefore rate this book four out of four stars.
