Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
WE ARE VOULHIRE :A New Arrival Under Great Skies By Matthew Tysz speaks about two parallel worlds influencing the kingdom of Voulhire: physical and magical. As it’s the first book in the series , lot of aspects are left unsaid which definitely makes us to come back for more. The book basically describes the kingdom of Voulhire ,the main characters along with the people and the social disparities. Apart from the kingdom of Voulhire the book describes other kingdoms which are poverty stricken warzones contradictory to the well developed , overpowering Voulhire kingdom. People from these countries migrate to Voulhire for survival as well as aspiring a better future. A young refugee decides to migrate to this kingdom where he hopes to find a life worth living. For the outside world the kingdom of Voulhire maybe a symbol of ultimate power and prosperity but on the inside it’s a kingdom with social and economic biases, poverty stricken and underdeveloped cities with people living in fear of losing their loved ones. A king desperately trying to bring about changes to his kingdom despite the lack of confidence from his own court members. Not just ruling a kingdom poses a threat to the king but powerful enemies with mystical powers trying to ruin what he has fought for all his life makes it even harder for the king. Every attempt of progress meets a dead end when these enemies try to overthrow the king and gain power.
There are a few positive aspects for this book. One positive aspect about this book is the continuous shift between each protagonists that in one way portrays the perspective of each person about the Kingdom , the magical world, the city they live in and what they expect from the kingdom. This book gives you an out of the world experience in your imagination. The level of curiosity the book builds up is quite remarkable.
There are no negative aspects regarding the story or the development of the characters in to the book.I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book deserves the rating as it definitely makes you want to comeback for more from the author.
This book is an excellent choice for people who likes to try out a thrilling , mystical one. As this book is descriptive about the whole kingdom and the whole system running it, continuous reading is recommended to attain the complete experience of the book. The diversity in the situations of the main characters was very refreshing and did not feel tiring. It would definitely be an enjoyable experience to those who prefer fiction and fantasy.
