The World of Ato is a phenomenal fantasy novel written by Patrick Borosky. It is an exciting first book from a series which I expect to be excellent. The reader is taken on a very imaginative journey keeping them captivated throughout the book.

Ato is a 15 year old girl who lives on her own and she creates an income with her beautiful art. Her merchant parents are missing for two years but she still has hope that they’ll be coming back home. Even though her parents are long gone she has her best friend Reed to make life a little better. Reed is an adventurer and takes Ato along on all his trips. One day they go exploring and Ato comes upon a dragon named Iro. Iro posses the power to make Ato’s paintings come alive and they quickly explore this new world of one of her paintings. In this new world they find a lot of action and adventure.

I enjoyed reading this book right from the very first page. It captured my attention quickly and kept me interested until the very end. The scenes are beautifully descriptive which creates this wonderful setting in your imagination. You’re left with a beautifully created image of the scenes playing out. The usage of words are impeccable. It’s such a beautifully written book and it’s a great joy to read. The writer is very creative and wrote a wonderfully imaginative story. He has a great sense of humor which you will find in the funny and adventurous characters. All of the characters have unique personalities and I found myself laughing because of them more than a couple of times.

Ato is a strong-willed girl and she is very grown-up for her age. She is adventurous but she gets reminded every now and then how weak she really is when being afraid. Luckily she has her friends by her side along the journey. The relationship between Iro and Ato is very entertaining and you come to wish to have your own little dragon by your side.

Any person who enjoys reading fantasy novels would love this one. The book has a broad audience. From a teenager to an adult would like this novel. If you love art, travelling and very imaginative and magical stories, then this is the perfect book to read.

I would rate The World of Ato 4 out of 4 stars. My reason for this is that it’s a marvelous story, it is very creative and has amazing characters with strong personalities. The scenes are wonderfully descriptive which captures the reader’s attention immediately and keeps it throughout the book. The entire book is well written and it has a wonderful story line.
