Review: Orchard Of Hope by Amy Neftzger

Post by Sally Balboa »

Unfortunately I wasn't aware that this was the second book in the series until the book had already captivated me. However the book was still easy to follow along with, I just wished I'd have read it because some of the characters I felt I should know better but they spent most of the time outside of the main plot of novel, while they were the main point in the first.

The Orchard of Hope takes place in a kingdom that had had a large and evil spell cast upon it, so that everything is distorted and does not appear as it really is. Then there’s an orchard not far from the castle where the king of the land lives, that is being ransacked by wolves for the hope that grows there, like fruit. Kelsey and her companions must venture to this orchard to save hope. While back at the castle a new apprentice is being trained so that he might one day defeat the evil sorcerer.

Sometimes tis novel was dragging its feet but I understand that some things had to be laid out so that we understood everything that was going on. I just wish the novel had gone at a faster pace in some areas, or skipped entire scenes all together.

This novel is extremely captivating, the author makes a world all her own, and makes it well. In most novels the author falls just a bit short but this author covered all her bases and covered them well. I'll be on the lookout for the next installment and the first book of this series.

4 out of 4 stars, the book is published later on June, 23 2014.
