Review of Containment Breach
Containment Breach by WM. Yandell is a fictional story that focuses on intergalactic space adventures and their subsequent perils. It picks up when Captain Alvarez and his crew arrive at a docking station following a harrowing mission that resulted in multiple losses of life. The adventure that will have definitely scarred them does not end the way they hoped as they soon found out there were store ways in the ship. This discovery sets a chain of events much like a domino effect that makes the story all the more entertaining and enjoyable to read.
This paves the way to the paranoid bioengineer Dr. Smithton whose fears are realized about the danger his work brings. His vivid dreams do nothing to calm him, more like haunt him especially the ones that concern his former colleague, Dr. Demetrius Zayack. Other characters have been introduced that mesh well with the story.
The author does a great job portraying each of the characters, especially their motives and moral dilemma. His attention to details, like the characters’ emotions, makes them more relatable and easier to picture oneself in their particular conundrum. He highlights how most scientists struggle when they make a life-changing discovery that may change humanity forever.
What I liked most about the book was how the story was written; the characters were depicted perfectly and served to bring forth various lessons that can be applied to real-life situations. For example, to never judge anyone, for instance, Dr. Smithton seemed like a paranoid man at first glance but turned out to be a very brilliant man. It also proves to never be afraid of change as to how the military planetary alliance fears almost led to most of their organization's leaders’ death.
There are a few aspects about the book I did not like, at times there seemed to be more characters that were introduced that were not integral to the story making the story longer and drag on in danger of making it less interesting if possible. There were a few instances of profanity and lack of sexual content in the book. Since the story is fictional and aspects of religion that may seem offensive are not tackled at all in the book. The book is professionally edited making it easier to read and enjoy.
The story was enjoyable to read, and I recommend it to those who love a fictional adventure that is bound to stimulate one's imagination. Overall I enjoyed the book and ticked all my boxes of what a story should be about and write. I therefore happily rate it at four out of four stars.
