Review of The Elf Coup - Book Three of the Magi Charter
The halls are decked with bells of trouble; this is the current state in the North Pole. A portion of the elves is preparing a coup to demote the current Santa Claus. Santa Nicolas went missing on his honeymoon and this provoked the argument that the Santas are unreliable. The leader of the rebelling elves is planning on utilizing any means necessary to gain control over the North Pole and become the Elf Czar. The future Czar's plans even include inviting intruders to invade the complex and harass elves that do not consider him their representative. All these events are cooking while Krampus wreaks havoc over departments. He is kidnapping elves, instilling fear, and causing power failures. Krampus's actions are threatening the toys production process and endangering the success of Christmas Eve's mission. As the North Pole plunges into chaos and darkness, ridding the North Pole of its troubles might come down to the decisions of one elf.
The Elf Coup - Book Three of the Magi Charter by Jordan David is the third book in the series. It is, moreover, a book I could not put down. The adventures are fast-paced and brilliantly narrated. It was a read I enjoyed and was eager to see how the issues would be resolved. I loved the characters’ personalities and enjoyed getting to appreciate them. Their friendships, bravery, and even greed made this book into a brilliant story. I especially enjoyed how the departments opened up and started having more verbalized conversations surrounding their burdens. Having not read the first nor second book of this series, it was great to be able to follow the events. I was able to completely enjoy the story without having to know the events that conspired in the preceding books.
I did not particularly dislike anything about this book. It was entertaining and a refreshing perspective of the North Pole and the elf life. The writing structure could use shorter and clearer sentences, but this was not a major issue.
I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It was well edited. I was not capable of spotting many errors. The found errors were minor and did not bother the reading flow. The story was amazing and I enjoyed every chapter.
I would recommend this book to adventure seekers and Christmas spirit lovers. It is a great read at any season. I cannot wait to revisit the North Pole see what the upcoming books in the series will be about.
