The book The World of Ato by Patrick Borosky is a sci-fi fantasy novel. It follows Ato a young girl, in the Crimson kingdom, who is an artist. Reed, her friend, and she love going on different adventures. It is narrated from the third person point of view and follows mainly Ato’s perspective.

In the book we see, Ato, a young girl who lost her parents 2 years ago. At the tender of 16 she has been taking care of herself. Even though one might feel bad for her, she works hard to earn her living by selling her art. One day, when she goes out with Reed on one of their adventures, she stumbles across an old temple. Intrigued by the ruins, she unknowingly ends up with a dragon named Iro. A small dragon with powers unknown. As Reed tries to look for more adventures and to explore unknown lands, Ato tries to share her talents with others through her art. You see Ato, though a young girl, with the wisdom of a grown up. As she goes on with her adventures, Iro makes it his responsibility to take care of her.

The aspects that I like about the book were that it had multiple perspectives. Though it mainly followed Ato’s perspective, there were instances of Iro, Lyra, Reed, and a few other characters perspective, as well. I also liked the fact it wasn’t painted as a perfect picture. The characters had their own problems and they dealt with it. I liked the fact that there were dragons and other magical creatures in the book. It added to the spice of the book.

The aspect that I did not like about the book was that, in the middle I felt like I lost the enthusiasm I had for the book. I lost my touch with it.

I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. I liked the twist of the story. The story was unique, and it was very special. I really enjoyed the plot twist and the characters. Also, the book was placed in Crimson Kingdom, a fantastical place. I really enjoyed reading about the new place. The book was professionally edited as I found no errors.

I recommend this book to people who like high-fantasy and mystical creatures. The book is told mainly from Atos perspective, so at times you might find yourselves at odds with her. There are instances of profanity but no sexual content in the book. Trigger warning: the book deals with some gruesome details of murder and manipulation of emotions.
