Containment Breach by WM. A. Yandell is a Science Fiction novel. The story, mostly taking place in space, centers around four scientists. Having had all their other teams fail to kill the creatures in space, the army decides to send in four scientists to perform an open restart on the creatures’ orb.

One day, without so much as being told why, Walter Smithton and the other three scientists are taken to Space Operations Control. There they are briefed on a mission they had not known of or even agreed to do. The scientists ask questions, but are told there is no room for negation. Then they are taken to space. Jack Wilson, one of the scientists resists, but is knocked out. The four are secured in their seats, their seatbelts locked.

It is only after liftoff that the seatbelts are loosened. After such rough treatment, will the scientists willingly cooperate with the army?

I loved reading this story. The book tells a really engaging tale with a cast of well-rounded characters. The main character, most importantly, was a likable and quirky guy. He was also very proactive. The interactions among the characters were interesting and added to a richer telling of the story. The science theme is pervasive throughout the entire book, which is good.

Most of the first half of the book is low tension. Still, it is alright, as the tension steadily builds up throughout the telling of the story. The story also presented a lot of interesting problems, which were all solved in a satisfying manner. The ending was satisfying, as well. All the elements of the story, including the problems it posed were all connected.

The story is also quick to address what its big overarching problem is. The book was written in a delightful and easy to read language. I didn’t, however, like how the book handled its viewpoints. While reading, I reached a scene in which the narration withheld information about what a character was reading, even though we were in a close point of view.

The book was wonderfully edited as I did not find any grammatical errors.

In conclusion, I give this book 4 out of 4 stars. It was a superb read with a likable protagonist and an interesting enough story. I recommend this book to all those who are just looking for a moderate level tension story to read with interesting interactions between characters.
