If you had an option of living in a very well-to-do kingdom that you have no excuse to fail, would you take it? In the Kingdom of Voulhire, people are determined to build a perfect world. It led to fame for its economic prosperity, and they knew how to celebrate it. This success was made possible by a succession of kings that were wholeheartedly willing to make Voulhire great. Wilhem Arcolo was the current king of this Kingdom after king Saint Idus over two thousand years. We Are Voulhire is the first book in a series of other books written by Matthew Tysz. It narrates a kingdom that everyone wants to live in, and therefore the story begins with a new arrival of a young man named Galen. Galen is from the land of the Princes, ruled by a wicked and powerful man known as the Emperor of Lullabies. The land of the Princes was hopeless, and it was just death or slow starvation. When Galen gets a chance to leave this land, he doesn’t hesitate. He is happy and full of hope. In his mind, he had escaped the jaws of death.

The characters in this book are well built. The author has gone into detail explaining the role of each character in this book. That is what I liked most about it. Some characters are lovable such as Galen. His naivety is something to be admired. This story is also full of magic, and some people use it for an unfair advantage. One more thing I liked is the determination of some leaders to improve their towns. An example of such a leader is Eldus Alderman, who had been hand-picked to become the lord of the quiet southern town of Hillport. His first act as a lord was to listen to the people and what they wanted to improve in that small town. Since this is the first book in the series, I understand the need of the author to introduce the characters. Therefore most of the action is towards the end. The question to ask is, will Voulhire remain the best economically and peaceful Kingdom in the vicinity?

I did not find anything to dislike about this book. The character development is exceptional. The editing is also professional, with zero errors.

We Are Voulhire is a fictional thriller that also involves the use of magic. I highly recommend this to young adults and adults who enjoy a good fictional story.

I award We Are Voulhire a rating of 4 out of 4 stars because I found the story so engaging, and it was also easy to follow.
