Life is as bland and repetitive as it can get for an eighteen-year-old, like Amanda. The only thing she likes to do is practice Karate, and at that too, she sucks. The only mysterious element in her monotonous life is her little sister. Who, despite being just 6, knows everything there is to know about the world. She behaves like a fully grown adult, living life like a robot, free of all human emotions. Amanda, being aware of her sister's enigmatic personality, never tries to solve the mystery and just accepts it as it is. Things take a deadly turn in her life on the day she's met with an accident, which she gets rescued out of, by an unknown power, who calls itself a diety. That fateful encounter turns Amanda's life upside down as she learns that she is an Acolyte of Truth, who is a hero that must save the world from dark forces, to maintain peace and order. Suddenly, life turns into a scary action movie as she is sent on quests and is plunged into a world full of dark and sinister forces that pose a threat to her family and the rest of the world. Her job is to defeat these dark forces and safeguard the world, and the people she holds dear. She is destined to be a hero. But the only problem is, what if she doesn't want to be?

Antoine Bonner's Rise of the Savior: Acolyte of Truth is an exciting and fast-paced adventure novel that pulls the reader into the chaotic world of the protagonist from the first chapter itself. The action-packed adventure, with its finger-licking good action sequences, had me hooked onto it from the very start. I couldn't stop appreciating the writing style of the author, and the stunning quality of the plot throughout the book. The eccentric characters, the funny and humorous dialogues and the chucklesome events, collectively made the book far more interesting than a normal Fantasy/Action book. With dark humour painted on every page of the book, the author has subtly, and beautifully, sprinkled life lessons and morals throughout the book. Though the story is fast-paced and chaotic, it doesn't leave out important moments and manages to tell a gripping story full of fascinating events in just its 200-250 pages. I found myself imagining every scene of this book in detail and even though I was reading it, It felt like I was watching an extremely well made Anime instead.

Though the book is beautifully and humorously written, some parts of the story may seem unrealistic and exaggerated to some readers but it's not something I consider as the book's flaw because unrealism is the theme of the book and its story, since it's a book which is a part of the adventure, fantasy and action genre. All the exaggerated scenes fit with the book's environment and do justice to its plot.

Thus, despite the unrealism, I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because even though the story is fast-paced and chaotic, the book manages to successfully execute the chain of events and connect it all to one particular source. Furthermore, it succeeds in capturing the attention of the readers and convinces them to stay till it's finished.

I would highly recommend this book to readers who love reading action and adventure books and mangas. This book has an anime quality to it and if you read mangas and watch animes, you are going to fall in love with this book and its theme.

Apart from all the good qualities, I would not recommend this book to readers below the age of 16 as this book contains a lot of profanities and swear words, and none of them are censored. Furthermore, the book contains dark humour, violence, dead bodies, profanities, mentions of death, scenes depicting murder and bloodshed. So if any or all of the mentioned instances are a triggering factor to you, you should refrain from reading the book.
