The Sisters Grimm Series, by Michael Buckley

Post by Mad4Books »

There are 9 books in the Sisters Grimm series. The first book is The Fairytale Detectives, the second is The Unusual Suspects, the third is The Problem Child, the fourth is Once Upon A Crime, the fifth is Magic and Other Misdemeanors, the sixth is Tales From the Hood, the seventh is The Everafter War, the eighth is The Inside Story, and the ninth is The Council of Mirrors. The whole series is filled with twist and turns only the most spectacular author could incorporate into the story. I loved the books the entire series! I was never bored. The first book was there but from there the series just escalated in greatness!

Can you tell us a little bit more about them? The titles say a lot but not enough to let me know if I want to read them. Are they young adult books or adult?

The Sister Grimm books seem to be right inbetween Juvenile Fantasy and Young Adult but seemed to be leaning more towards Young Adult. Eleven year old Sabrina and seven year old Daphene Grimm have jumped from foster family to the orphanage and then back to another foster family ever since there parents disappeared. The girls' parents' disappearance had no clues except for a red handprint, but soon the case was quickly forgotten. Later Sabrina and Daphene find out their parents were kidnapped. Later, their case worker sends the girls to live with their "so-called" grandmother, who they were told was dead, in a small nearly deserted town called Ferryport Landing. Their grandmother then tells them the are descendants of The Brothers Grimm and that most of the people who live in Ferryport Landing are Everafters a.k.a. Fairytale Characters. By then Sabrina is fed up with this nonsense and tells herself that this lady is insane, while Daphene is jumping with excitement and believing every word this mad elderly lady is saying! What will the Sabrina and Daphene do next?
