Review for The Forgotten ones by Laura Howard

Post by Broleej87 »

I was given The Forgotten Ones by Laura Howard in exchange for an honest review. This is Laura's first published novel and she has done well.

The Forgotten Ones is about Alison who having grown up with her mother who has schizophrenia, has trouble letting herself go and just having fun. She see's it as her responsibility to look after her mum, that means no room for love. She has always loved Ethan her cousins boyfriends brother but always resisted him out of love for her mother. Alison starts spending time with Ethan allowing herself a chance at love Thats when her father who she's never met turns her world upside down by telling her about the Tuatha De Danaan people a race history knows as fairies and how he can bring her mum out of her head. Thats when things get interesting she ends up on a journey to save the people she loves.

This book started off slow but I ended up enjoying it. Looking forward to reading the next book. I also loved the names they sounded authentic. I would recommend this book if you enjoy reading about the fae. Give it a go and you will find an interesting story.
