Review:Dead If I D0 by Tate Hallaway

Post by reads-a-lot »

The two main characters in this book are: Garnet Lacey who is the owner of Murcury Crossing which is an
occult bookstore in Madison, Wisconsin. She has a degree in English and is in persuit of her master's when
her coven was assassinated and now they are looking for her. She is inhabited by Lilth who is a Dark Goddess.
Sebastain Von Traum, Garnet's fiance, is a vampire with a PH.D. and teaches an extension class at UW in
herbalism.
With their wedding in just two weeks Garnet's parents were invited to dinner so they could meet Sabastain.
Her parents are hippie farmers living in Minnesota. Who should appear to ruin everything before the evening
gets started but,Tereza, who just happens to be Sebastain's ex dead,or at times, undead fiance by which he
has had a son Matyas. As you might imagine things go down hill from here. Oh, yes Garnet's ex, Parrish, makes an
appearance as well.
Things immediaterly start going wrong with the wedding plans. The band has to be replaced, bridesmaid's dresses
get switched, several bridesmaids cancel, the bakery cancelled the order for the cake, the marriage
application gets misplaced and, last but not least, the Vatican witch hunters destroy the church in which they
were to be married.
This is a great story about how Garnet and Sebastain manage all of the weird happenings in the two weeks
preceding the wedding and is an insight into witches vampires and the undead.
Tate Halloway has written three other books in the Garnet Lacy series. She has a captive style of writing that
combines a mystery, the paranormal, humor and, romance that all comes together to keep you intrigued
and wanting more. I would give this a four and highly recommend it to anyone interested in a paranormal escapism.
