Assassins Quest by Robin Hobb Spoliers

I just finished this series and i have to say the first book was amazing but did anyone else have trouble dealing with the other two books? Ex. Like how at the end of the third book the dragons he just explained where little more than beasts at this point just settle back down to sleep. Or how suddenly Fitz and Verity can just body swap or why The wit is so hated and yet is essential for waking the dragons so the last king to do it clearly was witted.
