Amanda has just completed high school and is unsure of what to do with her future. She lives with both her parents and her younger sister, Saira. Her parents want her to attend a community college but Amanda's only interest is karate. One day, during a heavy downpour, Amanda and her father (Logan) are involved in a car accident that renders Amanda unconscious. While unconscious, Amanda is taken to a different realm where she is introduced to a world of deities. Her own deity is called Ameena. Turns out Amanda is the acolyte of truth; she has been chosen to be the saviour of the world. As the acolyte of truth, Amanda is able to determine if someone is lying or not. Her younger sister is also an acolyte; she is the acolyte of transcendence. Unlike Amanda, Saira has a serious personality and shows little to no emotions.

With her newly found powers, Amanda is able to heal quickly. Her dad however, is in a critical condition. The doctor looking after Amanda's father is Jamie Conner. He is also an acolyte—the acolyte of death. His son has a brain tumor and is dying. Jamie uses his power as the acolyte of death to save his son, Lucas. He is willing to do anything to save his son—even to kill. As the chosen one, Amanda has the responsibility of saving the world from complete destruction; she is the savior of humanity.

Rise of the Savior: Acolyte of Truth is a fantasy book that had me captivated from the very first page. It is a fast-paced read filled with action, humor and mystery. I love Amanda's character the most—fun and not afraid to speak what is on her mind. The reader is introduced to a whole different world—a world of deities, kundalinis and acolytes. Some of these terms were new to me and I had to look them up; however, this did not prevent me from enjoying the book. In the midst of all the action and drama, the author, Antoine Bonner, fuses in some valuable lessons about teamwork and sacrifice. There was not a single dull moment in the book.

Initially, it was difficult to ascertain which deity and kundalini went with each acolyte due to the many characters in the book. Also, I easily confused Ameena with Amanda as their names are similar. Aside from that, I had no issues with the book. Antoine Bonner did a remarkable job with the book.

The book was professionally edited as it had very few errors that did not affect my overall enjoyment of the book. I enjoyed reading this book and wholeheartedly give it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I look forward to reading more books by Antoine Bonner. Lovers of fantasy and action will enjoy reading this book. Anyone interested in reading this book should note that there are some scenes with violence and profanity.
